The SLAM ends with the audience voting for their favorite story, crowning the StorySLAM winner! 2021-04-13 · Boulder's Story Slam's regular bi-monthly show works like this: There's a theme for the night, announced in advance of the show. Audience members put their name in a hat and are randomly selected to share a true story based on the evening's theme. This month, Boulder's Story Slam is doing it differently. Johanna Walker, speaking coach and lover of all things story, in partnership with The Dairy Arts Center, is bringing to you story slams, storytelling workshops and a brand new TEEN story slam. Story slam themes

On a normal story slam night, participants would be given five minutes to tell a true and personal story based around the night’s theme, which would have been re-imagine. The stories would be followed by an open mic opportunity where you can share a longer eight-minute story with no limitations. Story slams have themes and often focus on personal stories. This year we will be looking for both personal stories and folktales. The theme is " Just Desserts.
